Good morning Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here. It's been quite the summer. Less scandal than one would hope, but isn't that what the fall is for? Though the weather begins to cool, thing's continue to hot up among our own, and only when Manhattan's favourites all return home will it reach boiling point. With problems from last spring still lingering in the air, and with our elite back on their home turf, things are sure to be explosive. And what more could we ask for? Thing's have been boring around here. But what have our Upper East Siders been up to recently, I hear you ask?
Nothing beats a summer abroad. But when travelling far from home it's always nice to bring along an old friend from the neighborhood. Cobblestones and Cafe de Flore. Serena's locked down the Left Bank and become a muse to us all. Meanwhile, Blair rules the Right Bank. Storming the shops and consuming the classics. And sampling sugary snacks like a modern Marie Antoinette. But we hear Serena's stories sizzle while Blair's are more fizzle. She shopped at Saint Laurent, and dined at Drouant, but the only beau B had this summer is on her headband.
Speaking of Blair, we all know why she's not been spotted with any French men. There's a distinct Chuck shaped cloud hanging over her head. Our favourite Bass himself is still MIA. We hear his disappearance came only moments after Little J left town. Coincidence? Has B really driven him away, or could it be that Chuck Bass really does feel some remorse for his actions? They say even the coldest of hearts can be warmed, but we think it would take more than the a summer abroad for Chuck Bass to escape this little slip up. Wherever he's hiding, you can bet that B won't let sleeping dogs lie. Watch out Chuck, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Spotted: Georgina Sparks, a stroller, and Dan's dad with a scowl. Looks like Lonely Boy has a baby boy. Meanwhile Nate's been spotted with a mysterious woman, and there we all were thinking that he was still crying over Serena. Looks like we were wrong. Perhaps our IT girl isn't so hard to get over after all.
So as B and S return home and the leaves begin to fall, I leave you with this: Napoleon once said that secrets travel fast in Paris. But Gossip Girl travels faster. Bisou bisou.
